Transfer News: Third time lucky for the Potters?

Having missed out on signing Wes Brown and John O'shea from Manchester United, both signing for Sunderland, Stoke are attempting to try one last time to sign one of their targets from Manchester United.

Stoke are reportedly interested in signing 23 year old midfielder, Darron Gibson from the Premier League champions. Stoke are being rumored to be interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international after his move to Sunderland appeared to be in doubt, as the Black Cats do not want to pay his 40k a week wages.

However, Stoke are also unlikely to want to pay his 40k a week wages, therefore a loan deal for Gibson may be proposed by the Potters.

In total, Gibson has made 58 appearances for the Red Devils scoring 10 goals. He has also played 16 times for the Republic of Ireland.
